Life can get hectic. We all get that feeling where there is so much to do and not enough time to do it. So how do we deal with the overwhelming mind?

I find the best thing to do is concentrating on one task, no matter how trivial. It can be washing the dishes or cleaning your room. What’s important is immersing yourself in the activity 100%. This is not only effective for completing chores, but also has a calming effect in the mind. Usually this is enough to get me out of my feeling of uneasiness and transitioning into a blissful state of enjoyment. Getting the mind out of that multitasking configuration is the key.

A lot of people speak of multitasking as if it is a challenging task. Multitasking is easy! What is much harder is concentrating on just one thing. One of the most difficult things is just staring at a wall, which I personally do not recommend. The beauty of turning your chores into mindfulness exercises is that you are productive and get enjoyment out of the most monotonous task. It’s having your cake and eating it too.
